Welcome to Monday Matters where I aim to spread awareness to help important causes and where you can start your week off right by making a difference each Monday, even if that is just to pin, tweet, or share to pass this information on.
This amazing program is helping animals get adopted.
It used to be that when an animal is found and put into a shelter, only the few who happened to come into that shelter might see that particular animal. What if the right person or family didn't come to that shelter? They can't keep that animal forever.

They began taking and sharing photos. With the speed of technology, the shelter could now post photos online for millions to see. However, sad looking, shabby animals, in cages and or bad light, sorry to say, are just not appealing to most people searching for the perfect pet.
Then a couple pet photographers began taking better photos, photos that showed an animals beauty and personality and more pets were getting adopted!
Now there is a great program that is changing the way we share and view shelter animal photos all over and is getting more and more of them adopted faster!
Their wonderful mission:
"In the United States, approximately three to four million pets are euthanized in animal shelters each year – help us make that zero.
Our mission is to provide shelter staff and volunteers with the resources to successfully groom and photograph shelter pets, aiding in giving them the second chance they deserve, and improving the overall image of rescue and adoption."
And you can get involved! Post your own pics on instagram with #onepicturesaves, share this post and spread awareness, watch the free training videos, volunteer at your local shelter... there are many ways you can make a difference.
