We Love Our Doggie, Too

With all the to-do around here, hubby recovering from surgery, finally back to work this week (woohoo!), kids activities, new job for me .. well, poor Max's "birthday" just slipped right by unnoticed!

I was sure his Gotcha day was in March, but last week we received lots of friendly comments with wishes for a happy one (thank you)! So, I looked it up, and sure enough, we got him one year ago on February 24th!

How could I forget my newest fur baby?!

Don't you love me?

We've had a fantastic first year together.

We adopted Max to cheer up the family after my mother-in-law passed away. He was a dream come true! The exact match of what I hoped for in a dog, at first anyway. He's gotten a little too comfortable since then.

He refuses to "go" outside when it's wet and raining, has nipped at friends, so is no longer allowed in when guests are here, and has chewed a few kids toys up. Other than that he's amazingly well behaved.

He was meant to be my husband's dog and he does like him. He'll snuggle with him once in a while.

But he's attached himself to my daughter. She's his human.

He is very protective of her, sleeps in her bed, and follows her around- could have something to do with the crumbs she leaves behind. He does not like anyone outside the family to be near her. We have to keep him out when people are visiting.

We all love him, well, all the humans. Rascal and Rocco are putting up with him, even allow him on the same bed or couch now (see Adorable Sleeping Cats, Until.. Surprise!). They prefer him to be under a blanket or have some sort of barrier in between, but progress is being made.

He is very happy here with us!

please excuse my ridiculous puppy talk voice

And your friends love you too!

Your buddies over at Love is Being Owned by a Husky made you this pawsome card!
Did you sneak out and party all night with them without telling me?!
