About Me and My Cats

I have these two crazy cats that are always getting into strange and hilarious situations! They are brothers. My little family adopted them two years ago from PetSmart Adoptions when they were already both three years old. We went in to find a kitten, one kitten, of course, but the kittens all hid under the cages from my two small kids, my hubby, and I; whereas these two, who have no shame, sprawled their fat (they were exceedingly fat!), furry selves across the floor and begged for their bellies to be rubbed. Who ever heard of a cat who wants a belly rub! Let alone from a stranger! Not to mention toddler and preschool aged strangers! Weird? They must be ours.

Of course we obliged and were rewarded with much purring. And they're SO soft! Well..,when clean. We've since found that Rascal seems to think he's a dog and rolls in the dirt, the street, anything. He's rarely white and clean, like on that first day, more of a greyish color now. Rocco prefers to beautify himself most of the day.

They'd been in two previous homes, both times with elderly people who couldn't keep them when they had had to move to assisted living. OMG! We had to give them a home. Bonus; they wouldn't die when our kids squeezed the daylight out of them tried to carry them. They were too fat and heavy for the kids to even attempt it! The staff thought for about half a second to put them together in one cat carrier box for us, but quickly came to their senses and gave us two carriers, squeezing each into it's own box, and off we went to home sweet home!

It didn't take long for them to get comfortable, pretend they were tough guys and try to run the neighborhood, which is fun to watch! Together they gang up and torment the locals. Alone, however, they are fraidy-cats and the first to turn tail! It didn't take long for us to discover they were strange, clumsy, far from graceful, ate weird things, slept in weird places, the list goes on. None of the stereo-typical things you generally associate with felines. Except that they are extremely curious, especially Rascal (hence the name).

But, enough about them, who am I?
Well, I'm L. E. Mastilock, of course. I've been blogging about my life as an artist, writer, and homeschooling mom for a few years.
My Personal Blog:

Every time I posted a pic of one or both of these two, people would tell me I should have a whole blog about them! I think they do deserve their own blog. They both have personality, that's for sure!

I swear that all pics are mine and none are staged. They are all candid shots where I found my cats. I never place them anywhere or try to get them to do certain things; as if they would let me!

    1. Hey Couz love your blog & Merry Christmas & A Happy New Year! I have 3 Crazy cats that a shy cat that basically lives outside lil Magic only loves Mom & shy's away from everyone else. My cat Smudge the Pudge is very playful & once she gets 2 know people which takes her about 1 to 2wks of you coming over several times. Fat Cal is huge she is too furry so she is a outside cat too! She only comes around in the morn & night for food & doesn't play @ all. We've tried everything to get that to run around & play but she just bats @ any cat toy even the string toys that swing don't get her come them.
